About the role:
BYD, one of the largest manufacturer of electric trucks in the world, is looking for a Region Manager for Southern Europe to encompass its ambitious expansion strategy.
As the head of Southern Europe (Italy, France, Crotia, Slovenia and support for Iberia) region you will be responsible for developing a tailored distribution strategy and implementing a network for sales in your region.
In addition, the Region Manager coordinates the activities of the supporting teams at the HQ and in the Netherlands related to the region.
You will also be the spokesperson and central contact for all sales & marketing activities in the region and keep up to date with the latest industry and customer experience trends that can impact the business. Appointment and then the direction of the distributor/dealers and ambassadors for the region as well as planning and managing marketing events and campaigns will also form part of the responsibilities.
Based in France , the Region Manager is part of the sales department and reports to the Europe eTruck Sales Director
Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt and execute innovative sales and aftersales strategies for the region in close alignment with top management – considering the complexities of national law, licensing requirements, homologation and derogation issues etc.,
- Team up with e-Truck Sales Director and Key Account Manager to enhance awareness for the BYD brand in targeted markets, per company strategic planning. Including but not limited to the distribution channel, partner definition, network development, marketing approach, fleet and pre-owned strategies;
- Research, identify and establish regional partnerships fitting the BYD brand as part of a process to implement the European sales strategy;
- Closely align with the BYD truck management to align regional strategies in the wider commercial set-up;
- Daily network management;
- Conduct extensive interviews with potential candidates to access their suitability for the sales network;
- Managing training and onboarding strategies for new dealers according to company guidelines;
- Establish a close working relationship with the Product Manager, Marketing Communications Manager, Aftersales Manager and Project Management within the commercial team at BYD Europe;
- Align the planned sales network closely with the Aftersales Manager to ensure the maximum coverage of the markets (sales & aftersales) and a strong fit to the sales network in order to optimize the customer journey;
- Track and analyze market data and market potential; offer recommendations for routes to market;
- Prepare business case analyses on the recommendation of market entry plans and sales channels;
- Act as an interface between external partners (e.g. potential distribution partner, financial and residual value institutes) and internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, legal, finance);
- Engage with potential (regional) fleet customers in collaboration with the Key Account Manager;
- Develop clear roadmap plans to achieve revenue and volume targets.
Your profile:
- 8+ years overall experience in sales function with minimums 4 years’ experience as Sales Manager or Country Manager in the commercial vehicles or automotive field;
- A proven background in network development and insights into distribution models will be a bonus;
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related study area;
- Excellent English & another European language skills, which can be used in the region;
- Ability to work with teams from various countries and cultural backgrounds, positive attitude;
- Highly skilled MS Office user;
- Training of Value-added selling and high-level negotiation will be highly appreciated;
- Excellent negotiation skills, value-added selling, creative thinking, analytical reasoning, listening skills;
- Resilient and open minded;
- Results oriented;
- Great negotiation skill;
- Ready for business travels up to 30 % of the time.
