About the role
As the Software Product Owner for BYD's enterprise software platform, you will bridge the gap between the business and the IT team. This role involves capturing and understanding all requirements from the UK team and driving these through to implementation with our IT development team. You will lead the project for the UK and interact with internal stakeholders as well as the retailer network when launching the system and subsequent features.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
• Requirements Gathering: Capture, understand and prioritise all business requirements from the UK team and ensure these are clearly communicated to the IT development team.
• Project Leadership: Lead the project for the UK, ensuring timely and successful delivery of the enterprise software platform internally and with our retailer network.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain close communication with internal stakeholders and the retailer network, addressing their needs and fostering ongoing collaboration.
• Implementation: Oversee the implementation of the software platform, ensuring it meets business requirements and delivers value to the organization.
• Feature Launch: Coordinate with the retailer network to launch the system and subsequent features, ensuring smooth adoption and transition.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and improve the software platform based on feedback from users and stakeholders.
Ideal candidate profile:
• You must have experience of a similar project ideally within an OEM
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within enterprise software development in automotive.
• Strong understanding of both business and technical aspects of software development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and development teams.
• Proven experience in leading projects and managing cross-functional teams.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value.
• Ability to travel occasionally and adapt to the needs of a rapidly expanding business.
