About the role:
Due to the expansion of our activities, BYD Europe BV (based at Hoofddorp in Netherlands) is looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven Outbound Logistics Operations Manager. In this position you will play an important role to monitor and implement the transportation tasks of the delivery of BYD electric vehicles to the whole Europe and other markets as well. You will handle scalable vehicle movements and deliveries.
As Outbound Logistics Operations Manager, you are responsible for providing best solutions for all transportation requirements. You work collaboratively with different Business Unit: Passenger Cars, E-Buses and E- Trucks. Your work will generate a smooth vehicle flow from HQ/factory to our dealers/end consumers. You will lead a team of logistics professionals. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Vehicle logistics Europe. Your role is key to the success of the fulfilment to our customers and orders.
Responsibilities:
- As an Outbound Logistics Operations Manager, you are the central point of contact in the finished vehicle logistics and in the optimization of existing transport network;
- For all transport & delivery related topics, you will work closely together with the sales/marketing/planning/product team to provide a multi-model transport solution, including: deep sea/short sea/railway/road/air and any other transportation;
- You will lead a team of logistics professionals to fulfill the inbound and outbound vehicle logistics tasks. Your key task is to ensure timely and cost efficiently implementation of delivery plan, and meanwhile intervening and pre-alerting for any possible risks that might bring any delay or obstacle to the deliveries;
- Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics;
- Manage project logistics as required occupationally and timely (e. g. show or prototype cars, VIP shipments, marketing or launching event, etc.);
- You are responsible for process optimization within transport management. Define and drive development and implementation of needed processes and systems;
- You are in direct contact with the carriers, as part of the business reviews and you actively contribute to ensure on-time carrier performance;
- Use cost, quality, and service metrics to evaluate each carrier’s performance and to implement transportation best practices;
- You need to work on the logistics budget, monitor and provide analysis on the transportation cost;
- Work closely with IT department to set up the IT system for the company use as well as logistics use.
We hope you have:
- 8+ years of related working experience;
- Bachelor`s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or graduate of related study fields;
- Working experience in automotive industry (OEM manufacturer) is preferred;
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI and Data Analysis.
- High level of interest and understanding of IT related Transport management systems.
- Excellent English language skills; Chinese, Dutch or any other European language will be considered as an advantage;
- Stress-resilient with the problem –solving and result-oriental mindset;
- Ability to prioritize, organize and take ownership of the tasks on hand;
- Driving license -B.
